Frame

Of one piece all steel fabricated construction, fully stree relieved.


Main Drive and variable speed

Through DC variable speed unit driving a dynmically balanced flywheel mounted on aquill rigidly fastened to press body and running on taper roller bearings. Speed regulation by means of manually operated potentiometer. Also incorporated is a crawl facility enabling the press to be turned over at the slow rate of two strokes per minute.


Flywheel fitted with a seperate brake to arrest flywheel quickly whenevr main drive motor is de-energised.


Slide

Balanced by pneumatic cylinder and adjusted by manual ratchet lever. Slide flange with tool clamp and oil retaining grooves.


Clutch and brake

Press controlled by the 'Rhodrive' single seal, combined hydraulic friction clutch and brake unit, operated by electric foot predal.

Clutch control circuit fitted with dual solenoid valve.


Lubrication

Automatic recircualting lubrication system.


Machine Guards

Flywheel, drive and front of press enclosed in sheet metal guards.


Controls

The electrical control equipent is mounted in a free standing console, supplied with 3 metres of cable and positioned at the right hand side of the machine.


The controls mounted in the console top include:-

Motor start button

Motor and emergency stop button

Stop at top button

Single-continuous-inch selector switch

Lubrication fault lamp

Electrically operated stroke counter


All the other controls fitted to the press are used for tool setting and are mounted in an eye level control station on the right hand side of the press, the controls include:-

Hydraulic Overload

Hydraulic overload system, mounted in slide under ball seating, complete with all the necessary valves, pump and reservoir, overload feature effective through 1/2" from bottom of stroke.


Load Measurement equipment

Press if fitted with 4 piezo-electric stress sensor transducers mounted two each side, to meausre the press loading. the press loalding will be displayed as a percentage on two meters in the follolwing form:-
